Summer Vacay: First stop - New Orleans!

We headed out Thursday morning - Florida bound with a two night stop off in The Big Easy! The boys each had their annual travel pack . . . complete with souvinir spending money. Notice that years snacks did not include anything sticky, gummy or colored -- I'm not quite ready to break in the new car! The boys did great traveling! We made just two stops for a 10 hour trip! We stayed at the Astor Crowne Plaza - the same place that Kerry and I had stayed at for the sugar bowl - it's the perfect location!

We made it in time Thursday to get some food at the Acme Oyster House and do some street walking . . .

I bit into a PEARL in my oyster! The boys (and I!) that that was so cool!

They absolutley LOVED the street performers . . .

Watching the kid performers was especially cool . .

They were very impressed with this magician -- probably close to their ages!

I think if we would have stayed another night they would have come up with an act for themselves!
We ate lots of yummy food!
And got into the New Orleans spirit . .

Explored some history and shopped (Jayden and Kyler loved the French Market . . .

And we went to the Aquarium . . .

Even got to touch a Sting Ray!

And Ride a Trolley . . .

Below is us at the Palace Cafe - We were a little nervous about taking the boys here - it's not a real layed back kinda place - the boys were great! They even let the waiters pull out their seats and place napkins in their lap, though they looked a little confused!:)

Check out "Kerry's Irish Pub" -- we just had to Kerry's pic by this place!

Here are the boys in the hotel lobby . . .
On Saturday morning, Jayden and I just had to get some beignets at Cafe Du Monde -- Kerry, Kyler and Evan ate a ymmy cajun breakfast elsewhere - beignets aren't kyler safe :(.

It was great start to our Vacay! The boys kept saying how much they loved New Orleans! I wish we had a picture of us walking the streets of the French Quarter - Kerry in the lead, me as the caboose and our three little ducklings in the middle. I think Kyler got the gist of New Orleans the best with this quote, " the later you stay up, the more exciting it is!"

Florida here we come . . .!
