Islanders

After some Miami life we began our island hopping . . .  first stop Islamarada!   We found what will end up being one of  our favorite spots . .  the "Iguana condo" named by the boys and you will see why later on in this post!  We actually stayed in a condo - and it was nice to be able to spread out a little bit (a 2 bed hotel room can be tight with a family of five!) It was right on the ocean and had it's own little beach and boat dock.
The boys loved exploring the island that evening when we arrived.  Kyler climbed out on the point and struck a pose:)

The next day the boys continued exploring . . .
Oh look . .  the gathering of some more coconuts!

Some lounging . . .

We love checking out all the ocean life!
On my way down to the water to meet the boys I was startled by a GIANT LIZARD!  I had no idea these things just wandered around and co-existed!  After I jumped and yelped - I realized how excited the boys would be!! And they were -- like this is one of their favorite parts of the trip . .  Iguana condo!
 Kyler discovered he liked frenchfries.
There was a family of three that we saw and the boys named them all.  We will be back at the Iguana condo on our way back up the keys - so stayed tuned - you don't have to say goodbye to the Iguanas just yet!

The Great Migration to South Beach

Wednesday was not only the day we left to fly south, but also Jayden's 10th Birthday!  He awoke to find a sign on his closet door and he got to make most decisions and be King for the day!
We departed XNA at 10:00 am
Seasoned travelers . . .

Thank you snacks and electronics!  Evan was so funny going through security - he walked really slow and looked all around - like he was fixing to be shocked or something, so funny!
We got to see John Gyllin at the airport in Orlando- he works really close and came by to say hi!  Our rental car was our exact car that we have at home!!!  It was even brand new - only 35 miles on it!  It was like we just transplanted ourselves in Florida:)!  We drove straight to South Beach Miami for the night . . . Here is King Jayden at a restaurant, beachside in South Beach. . .
Thursday morning we hit the beach!  The beach was really neat-- lots of shells and sea glass -- I loved combing the beach for the sea glass and the boys loved finding new and different sea life.
It was just beautiful!
Kyler even caught a Miami Frog . . .

The grounds were so pretty at the hotel .  There was the beach and then a board walk that went the length of the coast and then the hotel grounds and shops and restaurants . . . very pretty and neat to be able to walk up and down the boardwalk.

The boys also discovered that you could climb over the rail and gather coconuts. . .  I'm not really sure how we will get back with all the coconuts we have been collecting along the way:)!
Just picture perfect isn't it!

Not as Awesome as Usual and a Cocktail Shot!

What a past few days it has been!  Although the little virus was short lived for Kyler- it hung around to play around with the asthma of Jayden, Evan and Kerry-- All of which were required to see a doc in order to be well by the trip!  Last week, when Jayden was "sick" and I was trying to baby him -- he informed me he wasn't "sick" he just "doesn't feel as Awesome as he usually does" --how GREAT is that statement?!Even though he wasn't up to true Awesome-ness potential - he didn't skip a beat with school or basketball! His team had a 5 game winning streak and was half way through the tournament!  The game was at 9:00 pm on Thursday night - he did a breathing treatment before and hacked all the way up and down the court - but never let it keep him down.  They lost - although I wasn't there to see the last part - Evan was in tears asking to go home and go to bed by 1st quarter (he wasn't feeling so Awesome either!).  I think Jayden was a little relieved that the season was coming to a close.  They had a great team and great season!

Here is a pic of Evan letting snoopy sleep on his shoulder while he chillaxed on the couch.  Evan and Snoop get some good play time while the boys are at school:)

Despite our decrease in Awesomeness we finished off last week a mid-day movie on Friday (the boys were out of school for parent/teacher conferences) - we saw Star Wars 3D and sat in the perfect spot - the back row, center!

On Saturday, we had a surprise party for Queen B, aka:  Auntie M!  It was my idea - but Mom did all the work:)!  She put on a great girly party for our Queen!

On Sunday, Jayden had his Birthday party at the Skating Rink - super fun - I will do a seperate post for that later!

And that brings us to the "cocktail" part of my title -- Not quite the cocktail I was hoping for this vacation week- for it involved a conkoction of  cordisone, antihistomine and lots of other good stuff delivered via a needle to the buttox!  Remember when I required the boys to all go to the doc last week . . .  well, good ole Mom shoulda gone too!  Come Monday morning round two had caught up with me - and I guess officially I'm a Pitts, but when it comes to sickness - I was wanting to crawl in bed, hear some "poor baby" and bedside potatoe soup from my Momma! Meds, a shot, and a day in bed and I am more Awesome than I was yesterday:)! Oh- and it snowed - and was pretty and we could've played in it -- maybe next time!

That brings us to Heart Day with my sweethearts!  No Sweetheart Banquet this year (yes, I was a slacker!) but I felt that I was doing good to have my children prepared for their Vday celebrations and to be at their parties this year!Kyler and Alec being silly.
Look how pretty and sweet Jalee is being and Kyler is being a goofball:)!

Jayden and some boys checking out their V-day goodies!

One of my four Awesome Valentines!

How AWESOME is it that we got all those fun things done when we weren't as Awesome as we usually are?!! AND - how Awesome is it that I am currently packed for Key West, just caught up on blogging, and am looking forward to a true "cocktail" beachside in the next day?! Pretty Awesome!!

THIS week . . . not NEXT . . .

I keep saying that over and over . .  this week, not next!  Thankfully, this little virus that is taking us down is hitting us BEFORE the trip! Of course, strep is running rampid in the boys classes this week (lovely) so, I went ahead and scheduled ALL boys for doctors appts. tomorrow just in case we get that too!  Below is a picture of Jayden's agenda for school -- look at how he completely scribbled out the days we will be gone -- and that was done MONTHS ago, cracks me up!
Pre- illness hitting the Pitts - Evan and his buddy playing skylanders . . .
How cute are these too?!  Look out Williams these two will be hitting the kindergarten hall next year!
Some backyard playing - when we were still having our spring fever weather . . .

Then . . .that darn virus!  Fever, cough and sore throat . . . thankfully short lived!
 and he's better . . .
Now Jayden has a touch of it, however these upper respiratory things always bring out the worst in his asthma:(  Evan went down last night with fever, cough and sore throat and then I went down too! Except I literally "went down" - like passed out middle of the night - thankfully, landing on my face to the carpet instead of head to the tile! This carpet burn on my face is going to look really nice in the Florida pics!  And Kerry went down too, but he doesn't stay down and will never admit he's sick . .  but we know.  Strep stay away!  Please!!  (remember - strep is what took Kyler and Evan down during the Colorado trip! BOOO strep!)

Besides all that mess . .  last weekend Jayden had his last home bball game -- they won!!  Pop, CiCi, Auntie M and Adam were all there and we celebrated the close of bball season with a lunch at Catfish Hole!  (I think Dad got a pic)  Then, I spent Sunday pre-game shopping for That's My Bag Committee at Walmart!  We bought 200 blankets, lots of shampoos and toiletries and sweat suits.  We even met the item limit - it's 492 just in case you were wondering - and had to do two transactions -- I think that checkout lady LOVES us, haha!

This week is tournament week for Jayden's bball team -- it's single elimination and quite exciting!  They won their game on Monday night and next game is scheduled for Thursday at 8:50 (AT NIGHT!) - I feel some breathing treatments and mountain dew in his pre-game ritual!
And since we are closing up one sport. . .  it's about time to start up the next!  Baseball fever has hit my boys (Kerry included).  They are buying gear and playing catch in the front yard.  Kerry said this was a blog worthy moment -- our two boys playing catch . . .  awwhh. (we had a neighbor friend over too, Evan is geared up as well, he just ran inside to eat his taco!)
And how cute is he . . . this is at Jayden's school bookfair - he was being so sweet and quiet . .  later we realize why - he was coming down with the crud!
Say it with me . . . This week, not next . . . This week, not next!
